Return to Projects Projects
SpaceGAMBIT is a hackerspace space program. Earlier this year they put out a call for projects, offering grants of $5k -$20k to work on something that will help humanity expand into space. We here at MAG Lab developed a proposal for a machine that would be used in lunar mining. The idea was to experiment with techniques that could be used to separate lunar material into a spectrum of metallic and non-metallic components.
Unfortunately our project was not selected for funding. The word is that our proposal was excellent, but they were looking for projects with more short term applications. We were a little too forward-thinking. Oh well, better luck next time!
You can read our proposal here.
